System is optimized for quick testing of retroreflective materials to ensure ASTM E1709 requirements for safety testing.
RoadVista, a Gamma Scientific company, has announced the official release of their
Model 933 Retroreflectivity Goniometer system for testing
sign sheeting and high visibility clothing. The benchtop four-axis goniometer system serves as an inspection Quality Assurance (QA) instrument for quickly testing
retroreflection at multiple measurement geometries. The 933 retroreflectivity system measures retroreflection (RA) and the retroreflective color of materials. A 3-axis motorized goniometer features continuously adjustable ß1 (-60° to 60°), ß2 (-60° to 60°), and e (-180° to 180°) angles. The goniometer system also has a motorized, continuously adjustable a (0.2° to 2°) angle mechanism and color detector with observation angle fixed at 0.33°. The primary light sensor for the 933 meets ASTM E1709 requirements with the CIE standard human eye response in conjunction with the CIE illuminant "A" lamp. The photometric detector accurately measures different colors without the need to calculate correction factors, while its color detector accurately calculates the CIE1931 color coordinates.
Powerful Data Capture and Intuitive Design
Operating as a stand-alone system, the 933 System can store readings and accompanying data for more than 30,000 measurements in non-volatile flash memory. Additionally, it can be controlled over USB via simple ASCII commands to automate multi-measurement requirements. USB drivers are available for Windows, Mac and Linux, along with sample Windows software utilizing Excel that demonstrates macro control. The 933 features a high resolution color touch screen that is optimized to clearly render text and images for easy viewing of pertinent data. A separate graphics co-processor provides quick, intuitive responses.
